Spent a couple of days in Michigan and had a very memorable trip. We left the camper at a site near Richmond and had Dustin get us a motel near Flint. While staying at the motel someone smashed a truck window and stole my GPS. (I even had it sitting on the floor, out of sight) During my interview with the police I found out that there was an under cover detective in the parking trying to catch the guy (this was a common occurrence) but he was on the other side of the building when he struck. He was not a happy camper. The window is fixed and I replaced the GPS so we are ready to go again.
We spent Saturday afternoon at Diehl's Orchard Cider Mill. There is nothing like fresh squeezed apple cider, unless of course that would be fresh made donuts or caramel apples. I couldn't decide what to get so of course I got all three (so much for losing weight in Michigan).
Anybody that has spent any time traveling on I-95 South has seen the signs for South of the Border just over the South Carolina state line. We have driven by this place countless times without stopping but this time we decided to stop and check in out. The shops are pretty much what you would expect (the world's largest tourist trap) but the campground was a pleasant surprise. The sites are large, have full hookups and plenty of pull thrus are available. At $22 a night this was a great place to spend the night and I'm sure we will stop here again in the future.
Now we are off to Myrtle Beach.
