The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good: Picked up our new camper last Thursday and love it. There is certainly a lot more room to roam around in so Sheila will have a few more places to escape to when I start picking on her. Moving day is a whole lot easier now. Everything seems to be automatic so getting ready to go and setting up are really easy processes.

The Bad: Several things need to be fixed before we can take off for the East coast. The biggest issue is with our refrigerator (it doesn't work very well) and have been been through round one with the dealer. He made some minor adjustments but I doubt that it's really fixed so we will be going thru round two shortly. I really don't want to leave the area until everything is working like it should be but I can see this turning into a long drawn out battle. We'll see how it works out.

The Ugly: We struggled with the problem of hauling kayaks with a 5th wheel. One option was to have a hitch installed on our camper ($800) and buy a trailer to haul them (another $800--OUCH).
Another option was to leave them here and purchase new ones in Florida and store them down there when we left. ($800) Sheila finally figured out that the kayaks will fit inside the camper if we stack them on the bed. It's a pain to have to move them every time we stop for a night but it's the option we're going with and hope for something better.

We are currently staying at Sterling State Park in Monroe and plan to head out on Monday. We are planning to spend a couple of days in Erie at Lampy's and then head on to Massachusetts.

  1. Can't wait to see the "new home on wheels"! Did you opt for the "cheesy campin" built in fireplace? Kelsey would just "luv it!" Thought for sure you'd bargain for a Browns decor... lets hope the "R&N Teribery curse" doesn''t get more hold on you 2! Congrats-- see us soon?!
