Never let your guard down

We spent Saturday evening with Lynn and Rosie sitting around the fire and just chilling. There are a LOT of skunks at Sterling State Park so the dogs were kept on a pretty short leash. Late in the evening (around midnight) Lynn relaxed just a little bit and Biscuit (who I used to think was the smart dog) made his great escape. He took off behind the camper with Rosie in hot pursuit. From the other side of the camper we heard a loud AWWWW SHIT!!! Shortly after that the ungodly smell of skunk was wafting through the air. Poor Biscuit got his first lesson in skunks and it was not a pleasant one, talk about a horrible stench. Since he was not our dog we of course thought it was hilarious. Just watching Lynn and Rosie put him in the car and put up with the smell was a sight to see. They weren't quite sure what to do and Sheila and I were way too busy laughing to be any real help. Poor Biscuit.

  1. The best part was listening to Rosie gag and complain that the smell was making her throat hurt the whole way home. Tomatoe juice does not work on skunk spray! We found that out the hard way.

  2. Hope Bisquit didn't STINK up the new diggs! Seeing Rosie in "that condition" would have been just as good as when "Harold the traveling snake" found its way into her lawnchair! Lets hope Ally & Poo-poo also watched & learned!
