Back and Exhausted

We just got back from spending a week at Disney with Lynn and Kelsey; boy are we wiped out. We went to every park and Magic Kingdom and Disney Studios twice. It has become apparent that we are way too old to spend that much time running around amusement parks. It hurts everywhere. One of my highlights was watching Lynn and Kelsey riding the summit plummet water slide. It's 120 feet high (way too high for me). After surviving the ride Kelsey said all other water slides were "chump change". When Lynn went down the slide the ride operator said "WOW, I think she just set a new record". There is a machine that shows your speed as you drop down the slide and Lynn was clocked at 69 mph. That's fast.

I survived 12 years in the Navy and didn't get a tattoo but couldn't survive a week in Disney. Kelsey and I both got tats (I think mine was much cooler than hers) and we used them to monitor our vacation. Once the tattoos wore out it was time to go home.

For the first time ever we stayed on Disney property at the Caribbean Beach Hotel. It worked out just great. There was bus transportation that pretty efficiently got you everywhere you wanted to go (although it seemed like we were always standing instead of sitting) and there was more than enough good food choices at the hotel. I pigged out on bacon double cheeseburgers and when I felt like health food, I went with the meatball sandwiches. The prices were high but not too bad. All in all I would highly recommend the place but would probably not spend seven consecutive days running around the parks. I would only visit 3 or 4 parks in seven days and spend lots more time just hanging out at the hotel pool/bar.

  1. It was an awesome trip, we had so much fun. I am glad to hear you are sore as well, because we all know my feet were hurting half way through day one and didn't stop until today. You would have thought they would have gone numb at some point! He-He. It really was a perfect trip and Kelsey and I decided it should be annual, so we will see you next year!! JK
