It's strwaberry season

Spring has arrived here in Florida and things are really warming up. A big benefit of that would be strawberry season. Right now is peak strawberry time so we headed off to the Plant City Strawberry Festival with Dad and Betsy. It was senior citizens day and visitors sixty and over got a discount. They didn't even ask to see my ID and gave me the senior rate. "What's up with that"? While we were there we enjoyed a Mel Tillis concert and had some excellent strawberry short cake. We have been enjoying fresh strawberries pretty much everyday as Sheila has been making fruit salads every morning for breakfast and sliced berries for dessert. The best part of all of this is that we can go through another strawberry season in Michigan later this year. You gotta like that.

We gave dad his first kayak lesson today. He did pretty good for the first time out and got to paddle up to within a foot of some manatees. I think he's ready for the next level, kayak fishing. Hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate and we can try it out next week.
