Good Luck Team 240

As most of you know I mentored the Jefferson High School robotics team for nine years. I watched the webcast this morning to see what this years challenge would be and it looked like a ton of fun. I will certainly miss watching those guys, and girls, building the "bot". Even though it took a ton of time, being able to watch a new group of students "figure it out" every year and come together as a team to get the job done was incredible to watch. This years team has a group of extremely talented students that will certainly step up and build an awesome machine this year. They drove me crazy last year singing Disney songs at every available opportunity. Looks like Bill and Michelle will have their hands full but it's a terrific group. I can still picture that far off, goofy look Bill would get when an idea started to take shape in his mind. He was fun to watch in action and a ball to work with. Remember to have fun and good luck.

We have spent quite a bit of time fishing and have had pretty good luck catching a variety of fish, unfortunately nothing edible. Our seafood diet still consists of store bought fish, not exactly what I had in mind. We will continue to work on that.

I suffered a minor setback this week. I've been fighting a tooth infection off and on for a couple of years so I finally made a dentist appointment. She pulled the tooth. After a little discomfort things are getting back to normal. I am just about back to full strength and ready to give Sheila my undivided attention again (that poor woman). She's holding up pretty well so far so I guess she's pretty tough after all. (I think that I am getting to him a bit too)

  1. It would be neat if you could build a robot that could fish. You could use it to catch the fish, then it would clean and cook 'em too. We think you should start on that right away.
