A new career path?

Thanks to some help from our buddy Rosie, we officially became “work campers” and started on our new careers. Tuesday thru Friday we drive thru the campground in a golf cart and compare the computer generated site availability list to what’s really available. It usually takes a couple of hours to perform and in return for the site checks we get to camp for free. We wanted to do a trial run before committing to a long term deal with a campground so this will work out perfect for us.

Our granddaughter (Kelsey) arrived last Friday and we’ve really been enjoying the visit. It was her first time flying alone and she survived it quite well. Now that she's figured out this whole travel thing, I figure our days of peace and quiet are gone for good. We spent one day kayaking with the manatees at Three Sisters Spring and had ball. Kelsey didn't have much kayaking experience so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once we got in the water she did very well, even in the open water. On the return trip the waves were big enough to splash over the side of the kayak but she handled it great. (Although she did scream every time she got wet) It was kind of fun  just to watch her every time a manatee got anywhere near her kayak. She would hold her breath and let out a little squeal or paddle like crazy to get away from them.  (In her defense, a lot of the manatees were bigger than our kayaks and got really close). I think overall she enjoyed the experience and just seeing critters that big, closeup, is pretty cool. Mostly though, we are just hanging out and relaxing. Kelsey has developed this whole pre-breakfast and post-breakfast nap routine that pretty much takes up our mornings. That just leaves time for hanging out in the hot tub and pool, then off to dinner.
(PS  If you see her ask her about the "shower pervert")

We spent today at Busch Gardens in Tampa. This time of the year there were no lines so riding the coasters a few times in a row was easy. Kelsey seemed to enjoy all of the coasters but especially the one in the picture. You just hang over the top of the hill before you drop. Pretty neat. We ended the day by getting Kelsey a tattoo and unlike Disney last year, I didn't get one. We are taking her to the airport tomorrow and once again there will be peace and quiet in the Teribery camper.  (Until Dustin and M.J. arrive Saturday.)
