We spent the past week at Virginia Beach having a good time and just chillin. We stayed at Holiday Travel-L- Park. Great campground, three large pools, lots of shady sites and a friendly staff. The only drawback was the fact that right next door was Oceania Naval Air Station. Most of the time it was no big deal but when the carrier fleet pulled in, it was jets roaring from sunrise till 11:oo PM. The last day there, the jet traffic was seriously non-stop (and very noisy) until almost midnight.
We spent a couple of days visiting with Rachel, a friend from our Navy days, and enjoyed catching up with events in her life over the past year.
We also took a couple of trips to the beach and biked along the boardwalk that runs for several miles along Virginia Beach (guarded by King Neptune himself). With all of that beach I also got a couple of sessions flying the new kite. The wind conditions were excellent so I spent a lot of time practicing with the new kite. if I do say so myself, I am definitely improving my kite handling abilities. Oh by the way Sis, we did collect some beach glass here for you.
We also took a neat day trip to Colonial Williamsburg and learned a lot about our early history here in Virgina. The town of Williamsburg was rebuilt to look like it did in the 1700's and characters, dressed like villagers of the day, explained how things were back then (yup, sort of like Greenfield Village).
The last two days we have been on the road and arrived in Florida this afternoon.
Gee thanks! I am gonna figure otu how to make some jewelery. Hope u have fun in sunny Florida.
