Some of the Teriberys went on a quest to visit as many haunted houses as possible in one weekend. Nancy and Ron came up with this idea last year ans set everything up for this year. It turned out to be a ton of fun. Nancy and Bruce (from Lake City, PA.) drove to Kings Dominion amusement park near Richmond Virginia. Ron and Nancy(from Warrenton, VA), Sheila and I (homeless) met them at the campground there. Friday we drove down to Busch Gardens near Williamsburg and spent the day riding coasters and going through haunted houses. Griffin was an awesome coaster and there were some great haunted houses to go through. The park didn't have a lot of great rides but there were some very good shows and the park was just a neat place to stroll through. As an added benefit every concession stand sold Busch products so Michelob Ultra was my refreshment for the day. We walked about a million miles on Friday and the temperature was in the mid 80's, so frequent hydration was required for survival.
Saturday, instead of letting this old guy rest, we hit Kings Dominion park. We spent the daylight hours riding every coaster that they had,and there were a lot. After that they took pity on me and let me take a quick nap. Then we hit the park again, just before it started getting dark, and toured about a dozen haunted houses and mazes. We had a ton of fun seeing the sights, getting scared and wandering thru the park. Unfortunately there were no Busch products so the refreshment of the day was diet coke. The food at Kings Dominion was excellent. Many of us had shrimp Po Boys and fish for lunch and it was very good. Not the normal park fare. All in all it was a very enjoyable weekend.
Next we're off to the Outer Banks so that Ron can continue giving me fishing lessons.
