After another very enjoyable week in Erie we spent four days at Evangola State Park. It's in New York State about 30 miles south of Buffalo on Lake Erie. We choose this park because it is close to Aunt Gini who lives in Tonawanda, NY. We stopped there for a very nice visit. Aunt Gini is a great old gal and it's always fun to spend a little time with her. That's one of the benefits of not having to be anywhere, you always take the time to visit family and friends.
There wasn't a lot to do at Evangola, besides watching the sunsets and the critters that were everywhere (deer, turkeys and fox) so I spent a lot of time napping. I spent so much time relaxing outside that the neighbor came over last night and said he was afraid maybe I had died in my lawn chair because I hadn't moved in so long. Sheeeeesh, can't even take a decent nap anymore.
We checked into Letchworth State Park today(still NY State) and are very impressed so far. There are 3 waterfalls, 22 hiking trails, 2 Inns, 2 pools and even a white water rafting trip that starts here in park. We will definitely be checking that out (assuming it doesn't include a trip over the falls). We are certainly looking forward to seeing the park over the next four days and then meeting up with some of the Family at Watkins Glen on Thursday.
I got this picture of kayak fishing from Rosie who lives in Inverness, Florida (near Crystal River). Now that's what I call kayak fishing. Can't wait to get back to Crystal River and go fishing with "Gunny" and Rosie.
