We are setup here on the lakefront and thoroughly enjoying our view of the water. Talk about a good retirement day. This morning we slept in late, sucked down a pot of coffee, took off and went kayaking together for the first time in a long time, ate lunch before taking a nap, then went for drive to check out the area, took another nap and now we're listening to the Tigers game. It doesn't get much better than this. (Listening to a browns game would be better)
The shoreline is relatively uninhabited so we spent a long time just leisurely cruising on our kayaks looking for wildlife. At one point a bald eagle flew directly over us. Neither one of us had ever been that close to one before so it was pretty cool. We are hoping to take a sunset cruise one night and hopefully spot a deer or two.
One of the local attractions is feeding the fish at the spillway. I know seeing thousands of carp in a feeding frenzy doesn't sound all that cool but trust me it's kind of neat.
Our Realtor called and we have once again sold our house. So far this seems to be going a whole lot better than we had anticipated but it's not a done deal yet.
So there I was; just sitting outside of the camper, minding my own business, reading a book when a couple of young kids came up to me and asked me if I had any tools because their bike needed fixed. It turns out the problem was just a loose handlebar so I tightened it and sent them on their way. When I wallked into the camper Sheila started chuckling for no apparent reason so I asked her what was up. She said she heard the little guys ride past the camper earlier and one of them said "Let's find some really nice OLD guy to fix my bike". Not sure which I am, really nice or OLD.
