Erie Pennsylvania

We spent the last two weeks at Lampe's campground in Erie Pennsylvania visiting friends and family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. As usual we left town before we got everything done that we wanted to do.

One of the highlights was a fish fry hosted by my brother Tom and Joy. Fifty relatives (some who I had never net) showed up and we had a good time BSing about the good old days. It had been ten years since all of my brother and sisters (there are six of us) got together, so it was really neat seeing everybody together again.

While we were in Penna I got a chance to go out perch fishing with dad several times. We caught our limit the first two times but didn't do quite so well the last time. On the last trip my brother Ron was with us so I can only assume he was the jinx. I might have to rethink all of those fishing lessons that Ron gave me in the Outer Banks last fall.

We paid off our bet to Mary B and Jeff for the Red Wings losing to the Penguins and had a great night out. Mary B and Jeff also hosted a Holland family picnic (that's Sheila's family) so we got to spend time with her family. My favorite part of the picnic was watching Mary B getting ready. She was trying some old family recipes that she had never made before and of course I was my encouraging, supportive self. Poor Mary B was working so hard and I wanted to tell her what a great job she was doing but it was a whole lot more fun to give her a hard time so of course that's what I did. (Poor Mary B)

Another gem here in Erie is the Romolo chocolate store. I don't normally eat a lot of candy but it was so good!!!!! I think it was one of the few times that I got way more of the chocolate than Sheila.(The magic strawberries were still fresh in my mind). So much for the Atkins diet.

We also celebrated Sheila's Birthday on Saturday. Once again she is as old as me!! I should probably be nicer to her now that she is a senior citizen but giving her a hard time is just so much fun that I can't see changing things.

We are on to Pymatuning State Park in Ohio next and looking forward to playing on the water.
