What the heck were we thinking? We left beautiful, warm, SUNNY Crystal River for Mexico Beach. I have never seen so much rain. The entire area is under a severe weather watch, flooding warnings and tornado watches are constantly on the TV. Festive Eh!! We were at the grocery store this morning when a lady came in and said that the visitor center next store was being evacuated due to a water spout heading ashore nearby. Just what I always wanted; to die waiting in line at a Piggly Wiggly deli counter. Somehow, someway I know Mary B had something to do with this.
On a brighter note, there are miles and miles of beautiful beaches here and a couple of fishing piers very close by. Once Noah gets his ark done and the rain stops there should be a lot of fun activities very near the campground. We will get to put Rons' surf and pier fishing lessons to good use get started on our fishing soon. With any luck we'll catch one of those elusive redfish or a keeper sized trout (we caught a lot of trout in Crystal River but they were all too small to keep).
Here is some storm safety look for a near bye ditch and if u hear something that sounds like a train take cover.
