Treasure Hunting

We spent the last couple of days walking on the beach searching for shells and found some really neat stuff.

First we found a huge conch shell. You just don't see many shells that big lying around. Not sure what we'll do with it yet but I suspect that Sheila will put her craft skills to work and come up with something. Any ideas? We thought maybe a candle.

We decided to check out the tidal pools at low tide to see if any creatures were hanging around and sure enough there were lots of crabs on the prowl. We were watching a little guy, like the one in the picture when, as luck would have it, a wave washed over the crab and sent it swimming into Sheila's leg.
I'm not sure who was more scared, Sheila or the poor little crab, but If you were outside today at about 11:00 you probably heard a blood curdling scream. Yup that was my darling wife being viciously attacked by a 2" crab. Now I know, a kind and thoughtful husband would have jumped in and made a daring rescue, but I couldn't stop laughing long enough to be of any assistance. Fortunately both the crab and Sheila survived the ordeal unharmed.

  1. That is so funny! I wish I would have been there. Kind of reminds me of the time when Rosie thought she was drowning in 2 ft of water. LOL

  2. Since I'm sure a candle would be lovely in the conch... Butch would set the RV or the campground on fire.... so might I suggest putting an "Air Plant" in it... no fuss, no muss, no potential diasters that Firefighter Ron can't respond to.. think 'bout it.... And Ron wants to suggest you put some old telephone cord on it and hang it on the wall in the RV. Then all of "those really old folks" you hang out with will admire your "new fandangled tellyphone"!
