Caught this little guy while fishing from the beach today. Had a lot of fun but didn't catch anything bigger than this baby shark. I would love to catch one about three feet longer. (By the way little sister, I had a conversation with the little guy before I let him go and if you ever get down this way he'll be waiting for you)
After lunch we headed out to the pier and Sheila caught us a dinner. That's a pompano she caught and everyone says they are really good to eat. We will find out as we are having a fish fry on Friday night. Pompano and mangrove snapper are the menu with some of Sheila's excellent coleslaw on the side. If anyone has any tips on cooking pompano let us know.
The weather has been uncommonly cold (like it's been all winter down here) but we are really enjoying the area. There are miles of beaches, with tons of shells, and not a lot of people. It seems to be more of a family orientated spring break area and everyone we've met has been very friendly. We usually spend quite a while chatting with strangers on the beach. (Sheila has always had the knack of striking up a conversation anytime, anywhere with anybody)
