Okay, I guess we just never got around enough when we were younger and there are still an incredible amount of new things we are discovering. The local beachfront restaurant has oysters on the half shell for half price on Wednesdays so we thought, why not, let's give it a try. Boy were they good. We absolutely loved the oysters. They were harvested locally and we tried them cooked a couple of different ways (Rockefeller and Monterrey) and both were excellent. Eating oysters and drinking ice cold beer while watching the sun set on the Gulf of Mexico: life is good!!
Our stay here was a lot of fun. Thanks to John (he's from Columbus not Dayton, don't hurt me John) and Rosie for recommending this place. We had some very memorable experiences here; watching a huge alligator swimming in the ocean, F=22 fighter jets circling overhead, collecting tons of seashells, catching a lot of fish (pompano, whiting, trout, bluefish, catfish and spadefish), a lot of walks on the beach, several steamed shrimp lunches that were excellent and of course oysters!! MJ, we got some orange and chocolate wine here that you are going to love. Hopefully we won't drink it all before we get home.
We are leaving Friday for Camden Alabama for a week and then on to Branson Missouri. Looking foreward to seeing new stuff but unfortunatly we'll be leaving the gulf coast behind. It's been fun and we will be back.
I am sad for you that you have to leave, but so excited for us that you are on your way back up. We miss and I cannot wait to see and hear all about your adventures, only 20 some days left!
