Here Fish, Fishy, Fishy!!!

John and Rosie (a couple of great folks that live here in Invernress) invited us to go on a fishing trip with them on the Gulf of Mexico. What a day!!! The weather was great and the fishing was as good as it gets. John and Rosie kept insisting you had to call the fish and kept using that "Here Fish, Fishy, Fishy" call. They even managed to convince Sheila that it worked so all three of those goofballs were using the fish calls. I however refused to cave to this rather dubious technique for catching fish and sure enough was pretty much out fished by everybody. I'm not saying it works but??? We caught a ton of different kinds of fish including; mackerel, whiting, catfish and lots of sharks (three different kinds). They were all fun to catch but some of the bigger sharks put up a good fight and were the most fun(John and Rosie let me land the big ones).

We caught somewhere around a dozen sharks which begs the question, why o why would any sane person swim in the Gulf of Mexico? From now on I'm sticking to fresh water only for swimming.

On a clear day you see the shuttle launches from as far away as Crystal River. We watched this launch Monday while fishing at Ozello. It's also a scenic little place we to go to watch the gorgeous sunsets.

  2. I think it is really cool that you can see the shuttle launch. Please don't tell Kelsey about the sharks. I have a hard enough time convincing her that there aren't people eating fish in lake erie waiting to gobble her up. If she knew about the sharks you are catching....! I will never be able to visit a beach with her again!!

Glad to hear you are having fun, even if it is w/o us!

  3. Oh, Did Ron forget to tell you about the "fishy, fish" call required to catch some? Maybe that's why you don't catch as many as he does too! Ron chants it over & over in his own lil head.... plus the phrase "gotta show up my big brother..." HE also says he thinks Butch is having "Ice cream induced Shuttle Hallucinations". We just packed away our RV for the season, hope you have a great "full-timer" stay in the new one!
