Pretty Quiet Here

Things have been pretty quiet here so I'm posting a few pics of the campground facilities. The pool is heated and really comfy but the jacuzzi is our favorite. It's VERY hot and feels SO GOOD. We went exploring yesterday and found Fort Cooper State Park and a paved bike trail. Fort cooper had a kind of neat hiking trail but not much else to do so we probably won't be returning there. On the other hand the biking trail was excellent. It was 5 miles of paved trails that followed a canal and ended up at the Gulf. We really enjoyed that ride and will return there frequently. The park system here in Florida is impressive. They offer a ton of different activities, fishing piers, trails and even boat tours of the local waterways.

Last night we went to Homosassas State Wildlife Refuge to see their Christmas light display. They did a super job. A large part of the park is natural springs and the lighting display highlighted their natural beauty. We are looking forward to going back during the daytime and checking out their wildlife display. They had a couple of huge manatees there and I couldn't help but wonder if they would look so friendly from a kayak. Santa was there so kids were everywhere and the line waiting to sit on Santa's lap was huge. Remember those days of waiting forever so that you could get a picture of the kids with Santa?

We finally broke down today and bought fishing licenses. I reckon that means from now on we should have pretty much an unlimited supply of seafood to eat. LOL. At least we'll see if Ron's fishing lessons were effective or if a refresher course is needed. We will keep you posted if we actually catch anything, especially if it's edible.

We've been reading about your cold spell up there. We are getting it here too. Every Tuesday a group here at the campground goes on a kayak tour of a different area. We signed up for today's tour and were really looking forward to going but it was cancelled due to being too cold. It was 55 at ten o'clock when the tour was supposed to start. Fortunately it warmed up to the mid seventies by days end. Hopefully the weather cooperates for next weeks trip.

  2. Been too busy to golf so far but I am about to fix that. A group of guys here at the campground is trying to get a regular time setup to run around and check out the local courses. It was 84 and sunny here today.
